NARS Unveils SS17 Collection

Beauty lovers will be excited to hear that NARS has unleashed the details of its SS17 collection – packed with covetable new products ranging from lipsticks and lip pencils to eyeshadows and concealers. Particularly exciting is the brand's breakthrough new Face Primers – three perfecting formulas designed to prep skin and provide the perfect canvas for prolonging and enhancing the look of makeup. 'Radiance Primer SPF 35/PA +++' provides a radiance boosting complex that promises to revive dull, fatigued skin – warming the complexion and boosting radiance with refined pearlescence. Meanwhile, the 'Pore Minimizing Complex' controls shine, minimises pores and mattifies skin throughout the day, incorporating African Whitewood and Oleanolic combined with peptides to balance skin.

Elsewhere, two NARSissist Cheek Palettes are shaping up to be a new beauty essential, designed to help sculpt and shape the face, layering with a flawless glow. Both palettes include a selection of six shades, which can be worn individually or blended together, featuring NARS's famous richly-pigmented blush powder. The 'Unfiltered II' palette includes a range of soft, feminine shades ranging from 'Pastel Peach' to 'Pink Amber,' while the 'Unfiltered I' palette features our favourite shade of all 'Watch Me' – a stunning opalescent gold which, dusted over the cheekbones, provides a gorgeous subtle glow.

Elsewhere in the SS17 collection, there are NARS classics updated in new colours, ranging from a 'Thessalonique Duo Eyeshadow' featuring an iridescent seashell pink powder in one half and a subtle violet smoke in the other, along with a 'Satin Lipstick' in a burnt sienna which took the catwalks by storm this season.  A particularly groundbreaking new addition is the new NARS 'Soft Matte Complete Concealer,' providing natural-looking coverage in an oil-free cream formula. Available in 16 shades, only a small amount is needed to blur, conceal and smooth blemishes, instantly transforming the look of skin. Handy to slip into a bag as a quick touch-up on-the-go, we predict this to be a new NARS classic in no time.

Estée Lauder launches Re-Nutriv Ultimate Lift Regenerating Youth Collection

Beauty pioneer Estée Lauder broke new ground when, a decade into running her eponymous brand, she launched her most luxurious cream yet in 1956. Dubbed 'Re-Nutriv', Lauder called it her 'goldmine of beauty,' made from the world's costliest ingredients. Jars flew off the shelves despite the hefty price tag of $115 (the equivalent of $1,000 in today's money) and the product went down in the annals of beauty history, setting a precedent for the global skincare industry. 60 years later, the company is innovating once more with a new Re-Nutriv Ultimate Lift Regenerating Youth collection, featuring the brand's exclusive Floralixir Dew. Created from two precious flowers known to thrive in the bitter cold of the Himalayas and the desolate highlands of Brazil, Re-Nutriv scientists were inspired by the hardy nature of the delicate plants, which flourished in the face of harsh climates. Each plant is gently handpicked for the formula and combined to create the groundbreaking Floralixir Dew, which can render skin dramatically firmer, plumper and more lifted.

The Ultimate Lift Regenerating Youth Creme is an ultra-light formulation, providing essential hydration and leaving skin looking more refreshed and re-plumped. Meanwhile the Creme Gelée glides over the skin to leave it nourished and comforted – blending in seamlessly. Both formulas feature South Sea Pearls which add valuable luminosity to the skin, and feature the all-important Floralixir Dew which helps harness the skin's innate powers of visible regeneration and renewal to 're-train' skin to act like younger skin. In addition to reviving the complexion, the products also protect against the ageing process, strengthening and restoring the delicate lipid barrier – a process that's key to resisting future signs of ageing.

Meanwhile the Ultimate Lift Regenerating Youth Serum has been carefully engineered to leave skin feeling silky soft, helping skin feel firmer and more lifted over time. Mico-droplet encapsulate technology helps deliver the precious Floralixir Dew in the best way possible – protecting the potency of the ingredients until the moment of application, when the precious product is released onto the skin. The Ultimate Lift Regenerating Youth Eye Cream also helps to fight crow's feet, puffiness and crepiness, brightening dark circles and regenerating the radiance of youthful eyes. A soothing five-algae blend of powerful anti-irritants is the secret to the formulation – calming tired eyes. Simply apply the serum morning and night after cleansing (avoiding the eye area) and follow with the Creme, Creme Gelée and Eye Creme for the ultimate treatment. With 70 years of experience in the beauty industry poured into the science of every formula, the Re-Nutriv collection promises to be one of the most innovative products on the market, offering remarkable transformations for skin.

The Re-Nutriv Ultimate Lift Regenerating Youth Collection is available at Estée Lauder Travel Retail locations worldwide.

Estée Lauder raises Breast Cancer Awareness

Launched in 1992 by Evelyn H. Lauder, the Estée Lauder Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign has become one of the world's most recognisable and successful global charity campaigns, identifiable by the iconic pink ribbon that has come to symbolise the fight against cancer. So far the campaign has successfully raised more than $65 million for global research, education and medical services, as well as funding 200 crucial BCRF research grants globally. This year, the company has set a record target of raising $6 million for this important cause.

As the most common cancer in women globally, breast cancer touches lives every day; in 2013, an estimated 1.8 million new cases of breast cancer were diagnosed worldwide. This year, the BCA Campaign will aim to highlight the importance of togetherness, by bringing together various influencers – from bloggers and media personalities through to authors and chefs – to share a range of advice designed to promote health and wellness. Alongside this, Estée Lauder has launched three limited edition products to raise crucial funds for the cause:

The Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II is Estée Lauder's number one repair serum, designed to maximise the skin's natural ability for nighttime renewal. As the brand's most comprehensive anti-ageing serum ever, it promises to leave skin smoother, younger and more radiant. Each special edition bottle comes with a pink ribbon pin – the iconic symbol of the Breast Cancer Awareness campaign – and 20% of sales will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Aveda Hand Relief Moisturizing Creme is a vitamin-rich formula featuring organic rosemary, bergamot and lavender, designed to soothe dry, chapped hands and provide intense moisturisation. $4 of each purchase will support cruelty-free research into the lifestyle and environmental factors that could possibly affect the risk of breast cancer.

The Pink Perfection Color Collection features a make-up palette of four Pure Color Envy Eye Shadows, ranging from a soft pink in 'Ivory Power' through to a delicate, shimmering 'Provocative Petal' and earthier 'Untamed Teal.' The palette sits alongside a Color Envy Blush and full-size Pure Color Envy lipstick – a subtle selection of feminine shades to suit all skin tones. Housed in a lizard-effect zip-around case with mirror, 20 per cent of the retail price of each piece will be donated to the BCRF.

Available at Travel Retail locations across the UK, there's never been a better way for beauty-lovers to show their support for the fight against cancer. Whatever your preference, Estée Lauder can help you to wear pink with pride – whether it's on your lapel with a ribbon pin, or with a beautiful pink lip. Visit www.bcacampaign.com for more information on how to get involved.

The ground floor at Harvey Nichols gets a makeover

Whether you’re heading to an important meeting that requires you to be preened to perfection or an evening event for which only a crack squad of groomers will do, the new Beauty Lounge at Harvey Nichols should be your first port of call. Open from 8am until 10pm, this new beauty mecca is home to a range of express services in a space that looks as pretty as a picture thanks to architects Virgile + Partners.

Enjoy a wash and blow dry courtesy of the gurus at Hershesons, sort out problem skin with an LED facial at The Light Salon, relax and unwind during a treatment in one of the three Beauty Rooms, or tame chipped nails and unruly brows at the nail and brow bars. Plus, for those in need of a little extra pick-me-up, Nosh is on hand to offer a range of vitamin-boosting drips and injections at its Infusion Clinic.

For independent advice on all aspects of the beauty offering, Harvey Nichols has installed a Beauty Concierge, a professional who is able to book appointments, talk through the brands available and provide a prescriptive approach to your beauty needs. Such advice is particularly useful when navigating the Beyond Beauty space, the area where Harvey Nichols has been introducing new brands to the UK for the last 15 years.

Soon to join the set up will be a new fragrance space, which promises to increase the range of niche brands on offer, and a new accessories area dedicated to the best in designer shoes, bags, fine jewellery and sunglasses.

Geneu pops up at Selfridges

For those who like the idea of a skincare range tailored exactly to their needs, the news that Geneu is popping up at Selfridges this September will be extremely welcome. From September 26 to October 9, the DNA skincare brand is launching its first retail concept within the department store’s Beauty Workshop, allowing visitors to uncover exactly how Geneu can help tackle the problems associated with ageing skin.

A DNA saliva swab and a lifestyle assessment are completed at the pop up before being whisked away to the Geneu lab. It's here that that the genes that regulate how quickly your skin breaks down collagen and what level of antioxidant protection is offered are analysed. If both the swab and assessment are completed before 2.30pm, results are available to collect the same day.

Two tailor-made serums are then developed based on the results, with the GENOTYPE AOX serum tackling antioxidant protection issues and the GENTOYPE COL serum designed to boost collagen levels. The cartridges of serum are also available in a personalised engraved case for those looking for the ultimate experience.

The Geneu DNA test and lifestyle assessment costs £89, with serum packages priced from £200.

Jo Malone London launches Basil & Neroli

Jo Malone London has introduced an exciting new fragrance into the brand's roster, inspired by the lively, free spirit of young London in the 'Swinging 60s.' At the North London launch party, the brand unveiled the new collection that combines the 'basil' twist from the hugely popular Lime, Basil & Mandarin scent that launched 20 years ago, with a heart note of Neroli and a base note of White Musk to create what Master Perfumer Anne Flipo calls "A fresh, sophisticated, sensual floral with green facets – stunning in its simplicity." Designed to appeal universally to both men and women, the fragrance is reminiscent of fresh summer days, full of life and delicate tones – perfect for combining with other scents in the Jo Malone London range to create a personalised blend. The theme of the collection has been dubbed 'London Lark' – epitomizing the cool, youthful spirit of the city during the era of the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix and the Rolling Stones. Guests at the event created their own mod-inspired badges while sipping on fresh fruit cocktails and watching footage inspired by Swinging London projected around the room. Combining some of the most popular aspects of the brand's fragrance library, this fresh collection promises to be a hit.

My London: Kate Percival of Grace Belgravia

Kate Percival’s Grace Belgravia is a women-only health club for members of all ages, advising on everything from nutrition and anti-ageing through to life coaching and prenatal care. She explains why London will always be home.

How has your relationship with London developed over the years?

I fell in love with London at the age of 15 when my parents moved from Ealing to Somerset and it made me realise how important the energy of the city was for me. After that I returned every school holiday I could and started working here in 1977.

What attracted you to building your business in London?

It is the most cosmopolitan city in the world, standing at the forefront of new ideas and trends. London is also a hub for world travellers and because I have lived here for almost 40 years, it is where I have the most contacts and friends. There was no other choice, really.

Do you have any favourite spots in the city for gathering your thoughts or enjoying a moment of calm?

I love Hyde Park. My two daughters and I speed-walk every Thursday morning, as well as run and chat. It’s very cathartic.

Do you have any advice for people visiting the city?

If you have friends here, or even just acquaintances, make contact with them. Every major city has special places that are not on the tourist trail and you will get so much more enjoyment from feeling like a resident rather than just a visitor.

What do you particularly love about the Belgravia area?

I love the shops around Motcomb Street and Elizabeth Street, near where I live. Contrary to popular belief, Belgravia is in fact a very friendly village – shopkeepers will recognise you and because so many of our members live in the area, it is difficult to walk far without bumping into someone I know. It makes one feel loved and a real part of the community. For food, I particularly love Amaya, Zafferano and Mosimann’s, as well as Olivomare and Santini which also serve delicious cuisine.

What trends in holistic health and beauty do you see developing in 2016 and beyond?

Eating well and healthily is still at the top of my must-adhere-to list on a daily basis – from feeling energised to having good skin to keeping slim, it is the best anti-ageing treatment of them all. I am very lucky that I can eat every day at the Grace restaurant and Grace-to-Go is available to non-members. I top this up with varied exercise in the gym, Pilates and circuit training, as well as a regular meso-peel from our resident cosmetic doctor Rabia Malik. She uses Dr Julia T. Hunter skincare products available through our medical clinic, which is also open to men and non-members.

JO MALONE REGENT STREET LAUNCH PARTY

Last week, the giant incarnations of Jo Malone's famous cream and black boxes that have been obscuring the brand's new Regent Street boutique for weeks were finally pulled back to reveal a sparkling new shop. In attendance for the opening party were a whole host of famous names including Poppy Delevigne, James Cook, Vogue Williams and Rosie Fortescue, who arrived in a London Route Master bus, wrapped in the brand's signature colours and finished off with a giant black bow. Fanfare trumpeters kicked off the night with suitable pageantry, while the Cellar Society served up treats including wigmore toast with black truffle and custom cocktails such as the 'Regent Street Rose.' As the brand's first global flagship boutique, the shop boasts some exclusive features, including an Artisan's Studio where scents can be embossed, engraved and even customised with a colourful cap and an 'Archive Collection' – nine popular scents from the brand's history including Vintage Gardenia and White Lila & Rhubarb, relaunched exclusively for the new boutique.

With Christmas fast approaching (just 49 days to go!) we've put together a round up of our favourite Jo Malone offerings that we'll be putting on our list this Christmas. Take a peek:
