With only one month until Christmas, London is starting to feel very festive, with twinkling light displays and ice rinks popping up everywhere. Sipping on mulled wine and munching on mince pies is a must, but another fixture of the festive season is the Carols by Candlelight service held in St Paul's Church in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Now in its 25th year, the service will be presented by Kay Burley and feature well known carols and readings from a number of guests, as well as music from award-winning choir Vox Cordis. As an added bonus, participants can also warm their cockles over drinks and mince pies after the event.

The event hopes to raise £20,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support – enough to fund a vital Macmillan nurse for four months, so there's hardly a better way to spend your time or money. The event will take place on the 10th of December and tickets cost just £25, available by phoning 077 9357 9359 or visiting http://www.macmillan.org.uk/get-involved/fundraising-events/event-detail/523/carolsbycandlelight
