For decades, 25 Brook Street, the home of baroque composer George Frideric Handel for almost 40 years, has served as a pilgrimage site for classical music fans from across the world. Meanwhile, the home of another musical legend, Jimi Hendrix, which sits next door at 23 Brook Street, has been resigned to use as an office space for administrative staff. Now, with the help of £2.4m, Hendrix’s old bedroom has been painstakingly restored to exactly how it looked when the guitarist lived there between 1968 and 1969, complete with the musician’s treasured Epiphone FT79 acoustic guitar and an exhibition about his life and work. The exhibition will be opening on the 10th of February and is predicted to be popular, so book your ticket in advance online now.
