French-born but now London-based, artist Elisabeth Lecourt is bringing a selection of her unique work to First Edition at Canary Wharf between the 1st of February and the 24th of March. Known for producing art in a range of disciplines from drawing, installation and painting to embroidery and sculpture, the new exhibition (curated by Tatyana Dachyshyn) will provide a particular focus on Lecourt's tailored cartography – in which she creates clothing from maps which reflect the personal history of the wearer, evoking the places and times that had a particular impact on them. Alongside the selection of outfits, a range of Lecourt's paintings will also be on display, never before seen in public. For the chance to view some exciting contemporary art, off the beaten track of the main galleries, then Lecourt should prove to be an interesting alternative.
