Curating luxury for the discerning traveller

Constantly evolving, the London landscape is famous for blending the old with the new, with each generation contributing to the city’s distinctive aesthetic. Indeed, today’s architects are finding innovative ways to create properties that make a statement, with visually captivating designs that cater to those who prefer their home to be as interesting on the outside as it is once you step across the threshold. From converted warehouses to sculptural high rises, the city has a wealth of attention-grabbing dwellings for sale.

Perhaps one of the biggest and most ambitious residential transformations in recent years, the Grade II-listed Gasholders London is the epitome of modern design. Located in the heart of King’s Cross, the building, designed by WilkinsonEyre, follows the concept of mechanical movement throughout. Merging a Victorian industrial legacy with 21st-century design, the former telescopic gasholder is now home to 145 distinctive, yet refined, apartments and penthouses. The external iron pillars of
the gasholders are clad in glass and aluminium, while the interior has been overseen by leading designer Jonathan Tuckey, who uses materials that reference the industrial architecture of the original gasholder frames. If that’s not enough to entice you, you can also relax in the beautiful roof garden with its fantastic views of London.

If you’re looking to find a property with a bit of history, the Richmond Brewery Stores apartments are perfect. The newly completed development boasts beautiful river views, exposed brickwork and open-plan apartments. The building has an interesting past, having been home to a toy factory, a British Legion poppy factory and, as the name suggests, a brewery. Keeping its industrial façade, the 20th-century, red-brick building is located on Petersham Road in southwest London, and the seven duplex apartments are a wonderful way of celebrating its industrial heritage and continuing its legacy.
