GEORGE IV: ART & SPECTACLE
To 3 May
King George IV formed an unrivalled collection of treasures that included paintings, metalwork, textiles, furniture, watercolours, books and ceramics. His exceptional hoard included many works by the finest artists of the day. This exhibition brings together Dutch and Flemish masterpieces, brilliant portraits by Sir Thomas Lawrence and Sir Joshua Reynolds, exquisite French porcelain, sophisticated goldsmiths’ works and elegant books and drawings. George IV’s decadent life is depicted here through the works of art that enriched his world.
