John Lewis & partners’ Oxford Street flagship has transformed its menswear department to offer customers the ultimate shopping experience

John Lewis & Partners always puts the customer experience first and has recently undertaken an extensive and ambitious menswear redesign. The 20,000sqft space, with interactive events and workshops including tech and latte art, heralds a new style of men’s shopping with a focus on making the most of his time spent on the shop floor.

It’s all about the whole package, from an approachable Walk and Talk service offering in-the-moment style advice for browsing shoppers, to one of five mission-focused styling sessions. These sessions help customers explore new wardrobe possibilities, from Modern Office, a seasonal workwear update for style-conscious professionals, to Event Decode, which helps customers hit the right note for any occasion, from weddings to black-tie parties.

But for the real VIP treatment, opt for the two-hour bespoke Ultimate Menswear Experience in The Speak Easy by John Lewis & Partners. Housed in what could be the world’s smallest gentlemen’s club, with a bar and elegant interior, style advisers can offer tips on everything from tailoring to weekend wear while customers relax over a tumbler of Highland Park single malt, a craft ale or a Fentimans soft drink and snacks. The giftable experience costs £75, with £50 redeemable against purchase.

Patrons can build their experience beyond styling recommendations, with style advisers able to offer impartial advice on fragrance and skincare and book in additional grooming services as part of the VIP treatment. Grooming services include Groom and Unwind £23 (Blink Brow shape); Men’s Energiser Facial with Clarins £26 for 30 minutes; The Ele-ssential and The Ele-vator Elemis Facial £30 for 45 minutes (a facial with a skin consultation); and Pamper MAN-icure £24 for 30 minutes (manicure with a conditioning hand treatment and hand massage).
