Oxford Street launches a brand-new Christmas lights scheme to celebrate 60 years of lighting up the capital

As traditional static displays illuminate town centres up and down the country this year, Oxford Street is unveiling an innovative new scheme. Featuring 27 LED light curtains draped over the length of the street made up of 220,000 sparkling lights. The display will broadcast curated, dynamic content while providing energy savings of up to 90% against traditional lighting. With anticipation at an all-time high, visitors from around the world are expected in the thousands to be the first to share in this brand-new Christmas lighting experience, proving once again that the UK’s most iconic shopping street is first in mind for all things festive.

Visitors can look forward to an exciting evening of one night only offers and events from brands, as well as intimate in-store gigs. Oxford Street has partnered with Capital XTRA, the UK’s leading hip-hop, grime and R&B station, providing visitors with the opportunity to experience live in-store performances from some of the UK’s freshest home-grown hip-hop, grime and R&B.
