Treatwell – the mindful manicure

Treatwell has brought self-care and mindfulness into over 100 salons across the UK, in collaboration with psychologist Suzy Reading. 

Getting a manicure is a popular form of self-care these days. However, few customers actually use their manicure appointment as an opportunity to truly relax, as many people feel an obligation to make conversation, scroll through their Instagram feed or simply think about their to-do list for the rest of the day. Treatwell’s new campaign, Mindful Mani, is an agreement between the customer and the salon that they will be using this treatment as me-time and will be plugging in and switching off during their appointment.

Treatwell is taking away the customer’s worry of appearing rude and giving them the silent treatment (literally) this Autumn, free of judgement and without the fear of impoliteness. Using mood-enhancing Spotify music playlists and the Power Hour podcast, customers are encouraged to take back this one hour where they can unplug from everyday worries and problems. “Treatwell carves out some quality time in between one commitment and another or during your lunch break, the Mindful Mani is just so easy and fast; just a few clicks to choose the perfect treatment and face the day feeling revitalised and refreshed,” explained Treatwell’s internal Mindfulness Ambassador, Leanne Evans.

Registered psychologist, Suzy Reading’s research surrounding the campaign displays the ability for small acts of mindfulness in everyday life and the effects they can have on your thoughts and emotions. “It is lovely to take a whole hour out of our day but we can experience great benefits from as little as a minute! Start by dotting your day with tiny mini moments of nourishment and you will soon notice the cumulative effects,” Reading explains.
